Food:


The food in Chile holds a high standard for the natives. Mealtimes aren't as casual in Chile as they are in The United States. The Chileans dedicate their time to 4 meals a day (Chile Food). Chileans rarely eat alone when they eat. Each meal is usually shared between multiple family members or friends because Chileans believe mealtime is the best time for communication (Chilean Food). Breakfast:
is usually very light. Preferable toast or eggs with coffee or milk in the morning at the most (Chilean Food). Its usually eaten around 9am-11am right after waking up or before leaving for work, school, etc. Unlike Americans, almost every Chilean eats some kind of breakfast before leaving (Chile Food).
Lunch/Snack:
The lunch is the main meal in Chile, much like dinner for Americans. Its served between 1pm and 2pm (Chile Food). When Chileans eat lunch they typically eat 2 courses with it (Culture of Chile). Generally the first course is a salad or something light followed by something with beef, seafood or chicken with some kind of rice or vegetables(Chilean Food). During the normal lunch hour almost every business will close. So restaurants can prosper (HosterĂ­a de la Colina)
Around 5 in the afternoon a midday snack (Once) which eaten that involves tea and some kind of bread and jam almost a repeat of their breakfast (Chilean Food). The Chileans eat this snack so late because they eat their dinner almost 2 hours later then Americans (Culture of Chile).
Dinner/Dessert:
Dinner served around 9pm thru 11pm and it isn't as much as a meal to them as it is a social hour (Culture of Chile). The host will usually serve a small meal with some kind of meat in it with plenty of wine to the guests (Chile Food). After dinner their is a light dessert that usually follows (Chilean Food). Desserts are not as popular in Chile for normal nights, however parties are filled with elegant desserts and delicious recipes (Brigadeiros).
Favorites:
Being the Chile is a country on the coast of South America seafood is one of their most popular exports (Culture of Chile) . Seafood is served in at least one meal a day and Chile is known for their wide variety of choice fish (Chilean Food). Another favorite from Chile is their wine (Chile Food). Wine is huge in the Chilean culture. Whether you are rich or poor you drink wine (Culture of Chile). Not in the aspect of the alcohol, but for the sophisticated look and taste is what lures them to it (Culture of Chile). One of the most sought out desserts in Chile is Brigadieros that is found in almost every candy shop (Brigadeiros).
